We aren’t defined by our projects but by our approach: to develop capacity in partnered First Nations through community learning and participation, shared methods and data products.

Species at Risk Monitoring
With an array of monitoring techniques available, including camera trap arrays, audio recording arrays for bird species inventories, in-person ecological survey, TK Array can help obtain Species-at-Risk data to support conservation within vital regions. This includes developing community-led monitoring programs that prioritize community values.
Traditional Use Mapping
TK Array helps create detailed Traditional Use maps to effectively leverage community and Elder knowledge during consultation and negotiation with industrial developers, while still protecting the confidentiality of a community’s Traditional Knowledge.
Monitoring App Development
TK Array works with communities to develop culturally-specific mobile survey apps for mobile devices, empowering community members to contribute to their own Traditional Use databases, and create a dataset that serves the community during consultation and negotiation with Industrial developers and Crown governments.
Capacity Building
Empowering Indigenous communities with powerful tools and methods is a crucial element of TK Array’s philosophy. TKA not only ensures that all methods, data, and data products stay within partnered communities, but also offers technical training to ensure that Indigenous communities are equipped with the skills and tools they need to lead and manage their environmental and conservation projects.
